Infant Care

Kids & Cribs provides a secure, loving, and nurturing environment for infants entrusted to us. Our teachers have a deep affection for the infants in their care. Along with the physical and developmental tasks provided, the daily routine includes warmth, love, and affection. 

We understand that you and your baby will be going through a period of becoming comfortable with your new routine. You are welcome to call or visit any time during the day.

The infant curriculum is based primarily on play. As infants play with toys, observe the world around them, listen to sounds, and interact with caring adults, they are learning. The development of play skills can be significantly enhanced by the quality of teachers’ interactions and the availability of play materials.

Through our infant program, we aim to: 

• Provide a safe, comforting, healthy environment for infants.
• Develop a secure, trusting, caregiving relationship with each infant.
• Establish a supportive and positive relationship with parents.
• Expose infants to frequent positive language interactions, which result in the development of receptive and later expressive language.

Toddler Care

Toddlers are unique individuals - just leaving babyhood but not yet preschoolers. They struggle with autonomy by being both strongly independent and then suddenly dependent. A curriculum designed for toddlers must address the unique developmental aspects of this age group and be responsive to their needs and interests.

The toddler curriculum at Kids & Cribs includes several key elements that specifically address the needs of toddlers. The teachers plan their weekly activities based on their observations of the children and determine their interests, needs, and abilities.

We have designed our toddler program for each child to transition from the sensory-motor world to an increasingly social world and the onset of symbolic thinking.

Throughout the day, children make self-directed and guided choices, participate in small groups and projects, and join in brief circle times with the whole group. The teachers plan activities based on the developmental skills of toddlers. Changes to the learning environment, activities, and projects reflect emerging interests and individual goals. Learning centers offer guided experiences that encompass all the skills and understandings necessary for optimum development and success in school.
