About Us

The Kids & Cribs facility was built by the former owner, Nancy Wefer, in 1989 and was designed specifically for child care. There are two shaded outside play areas with developmentally appropriate equipment to help grow and develop the children’s gross motor skills.

The teachers are dedicated to providing loving care with developmentally appropriate activities for the children. When you walk into the center or classrooms, you can see, feel and hear the commitment to the children. Each age group has its own classroom with bathrooms and two sinks to encourage self-help skills for personal hygiene. Meals are prepared and delivered by Distinctive Dining, which prepares meals based on the Federal Food Program Guidelines. The center houses a separate cafeteria space for lunches and snacks.

Under new ownership, Kids & Cribs pursued and obtained a three-star accreditation through the State of Kentucky All-Stars program and is in good standing with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Kids & Cribs also partners with 4C for Children (www.4cforchildren.org) for teacher training and coaching. In 2017-18, Kids & Cribs completed Kentucky’s Strengthening Families initiative and were committed to:

• Promoting strong families and healthy development for families prenatally through age five
• Partnering with all families and celebrating differences
• Using protective factors as a strengths-based philosophy to buffer for toxic stress
• Building knowledge and skills for individual and system change
• Creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments for people to have responsive and caring relationships
